The role

Imagine fleets with thousands of Sunswap refrigeration units requiring remote management, monitoring and OTA updates. Sunswap’s Fleet Management Cloud Platform will do just that.

As Lead Software Engineer you will be responsible for delivering the next stage of our Cloud Platform reporting directly to the CTO. The platform is currently in a PoC stage and serves as an internal monitoring and reporting tool for the real-world trials we are currently conducting with customers.

As we transition away from trials and PoC, we will be entering a Commercial Readiness stage needing to develop a suitable cloud architecture which is able to manage a large number of devices, users and organisations. Our ultimate goal is to deliver value to our customers through optimised use of their fleet and in return generate revenue to Sunswap through a SaaS model.

As Lead Software Engineer, your day-to-day work will be a mixture of hands-on work delivering the cloud architecture as well as managing the overall project, collaborating with subcontractors and consultants. Sunswap is experiencing exponential growth meaning there will be ample space to grow within the team with more exciting challenges in the future.

You will:

  • Lead and develop Sunswap’s in house software development capability.

  • Take Sunswap’s Cloud Platform from PoC to fully fledged SaaS.

  • Work hands-on to deliver cloud based software.

  • Manage external resources such as contractors and consultants.

  • Plan and manage the project from start to finish.

  • Act as technical consultant to other teams and projects at Sunswap.

  • Support customer deployments of the Sunswap refrigeration units.

You are:

You have:

  • A good understanding of software development processes.

  • Excellent Python language skills.

  • Experience in Cloud Networking and in particular Azure.

  • Experience in NoSQL databases such as InfluxDB.

  • Experience in delivering software with Docker.

  • Experience in Events management.

  • Knowledge if Grafana.

  • Knowledge of IoT and Edge Analytics.

  • Knowledge of logistics.
