Sunswap Named Refrigerated Transport Manufacturer of the Year 2024

Sunswap is proud to announce we've been named Refrigerated Transport Manufacturer of the Year 2024 at the TCS&D Awards, part of the Cold Chain Hub event in Birmingham. This recognition comes at an exciting time, as our first production Endurance units are set to hit the road in the coming weeks.
The award acknowledges Sunswap's innovative approach to sustainable refrigerated transport. Our zero-emission Endurance transport refrigeration unit (TRU) combines advanced battery technology with trailer-top solar power to significantly reduce operating costs and environmental impact without compromising performance.
"Being named Manufacturer of the Year is a great honour that validates the entire team's tireless efforts," said Michael Lowe, CEO of Sunswap. "As we transition from successful trials to full production, this award reinforces that we're on the right path to transforming refrigerated transport."
Sunswap showcased the first production Endurance unit at Cold Chain Hub 2024, this marked the culmination of five years of intensive research and development. Designed and manufactured in Britain, Endurance represents a major step forward in cold chain sustainability.
The launch of our first production units with DFDS, a leading European shipping and logistics company, demonstrates the commercial viability of the fully-electric technology. "We're excited to see Endurance units operating on roads across the UK in the coming weeks and months", noted Michael.
As the refrigerated transport industry faces increasing pressure to reduce emissions, Sunswap is proud to offer a proven, zero-emission alternative to traditional diesel-powered TRUs. We look forward to continued collaboration with our partners and customers as we work to decarbonise the cold chain.
